Femfession #1: a rant on "girls [lack of] support girls"

Why do girls always want the attention of guys? I’ve witnessed it almost my whole life now but it just never made any sense to me. And why do they always have to bring down other girls just to lift themselves up? For male validation? Because they like it (which just makes them mean)? Girls are supposed to protect and support one another, not the opposite, and definitely not for a boy or even boys. Come on, even guys have each other’s backs, why can’t we do the same? Do us girls like to compete against each other that much? Never makes sense to me.

my roman empire is"girls support girls"

To be honest, this is also something that I have been wondering for some time, how we pride ourselves as girls who support other girls, and how female friendships are so beautiful. But then as soon as something happens, whether that is when your friend gets a better grade than you, looks prettier than you, etc. the jealousy starts to kick in. I don't want to spoil too much as this is discussed further in the first issue (stay tuned!), but I believe that we should not entirely blame other girls for being "jealous" and being not supportive because they have been, like all of us since birth practically, indoctrinated by the patriarchy to believe that girls are competitions to one another and by pulling one down you will succeed. This is wrong, but still, a big majority of people don't realize that, and that's okay, it is not their fault. We need to further educate ourselves and those around us to be supportive of one another. We should not go around taunting and spreading hate on those girls that we don't deem a girl's girl because frankly, that makes us not a girl's girl.

Comment what you think below. And obviously, stay hydrated and educated.

Xoxo, Yours Truly
