what makes a girl a girls girl? and what makes one not?

The internet's definition of a girl's girl is "someone who values their female relationships over their male relationships.  

However, I don't believe this as being a girls girl does not (and should not) mean you disregard or prioritize one type of relationship over another. For me a girls girl is someone who supports other girls, respects them, doesn't lie or gatekeep them, and is always there to help other girls regardless of whether you like them or not, or if they are your friends or not. A classic example is to (quietly, politely, and personally) tell the time they have food stuck in their teeth (or braces, like me :). A girl's girl hype up other girls, especially when they are insecure about how they look for example.

A very important factor involved in the concept of being a girls girl is TRUST. "I have your back" and "you have my back". It is the unanimous agreement and girl code that we all have each other's back, no matter what. Only when this level and foundation of mutual trust do girls girl girls (💀) truly girls girls!

And to identify if someone is not a girls girl is if they do not do all of the things, above. Remember it is not enough that they tick off one or two boxes, no. A girls girl will tick all the boxes because you cannot be a girls girl if you respect girls but simultaneously gatekeep stuff from them. It just doesn't work like that.
